We are huge advocates of ‘Proactive Maintenance’, because if your bike is well maintained, you are always riding a fast, quiet, safe and grin-inducing bike…… Problems are rare because the bike is kept in first-class working order. You spend more time riding your bike and smiling!

A Guide to our Servicing

All services: start with a full ‘safety check’ and assessment to determine the condition of the bicycle, wear on components, and assess the work required; followed by a chat to advise you of any recommendations and the estimated cost of any additional spare parts (before commencing work); services finish with a second safety check and road test to ensure that all work has been conducted correctly and your bike is safe to enjoy.

Eco-Collection and Delivery

Our ethos is to do all we can for the environment and, as such, we offer collection options (on foot, by e-cargo bike and, in future, by electric van) in Larkhall and wider Bath. Save congestion, pollution and parking fees!

Visits to our workshop are by appointment only (please just email or call us to arrange), and preferably by bike or on foot.

Mobile Repairs

In addition to our workshop service (the best place to take a bike apart), we offer eco-friendly mobile repairs in Bath, for bikes that cannot be easily transported if broken (aimed at heavy e-bikes and e-cargo bikes).

Callouts out of hours are also available for an additional charge, if you need your bike fixed urgently for the next day and we can effect a simple repair to get you back up and running. Please call or email for assistance.

Bicycle ‘Check and Tune’

  • We will conduct a comprehensive safety check of your bicycle, adjust and tune gears and brakes, true both wheels, and advise of any further work required.

  • Your bike will be fully safety checked, gears and brakes adjusted and wheels trued.

Bicycle ‘Routine’ Service

  • A ‘Routine Service’ is a partial strip-down of your bike, to clean and adjust major components.

    Prepare. Drivetrain degreased and cleaned (on bike). Frame wiped down.

    Clean and Adjust. All moving parts* cleaned / adjusted / lubricated as appropriate, and correctly torqued.

    Hubs adjusted (cleaned and degreased if not running smoothly).

    Tune. Gears and brakes finely adjusted (hydraulic disc brakes bled)

    True. Minor Wheel True.

    Not included in this service:

    *Routine Service does not include full strip-down and service of bottom bracket (BB) or headset. If these are assessed to require a service, we will contact you to discuss recommendations.

Bicycle ‘Full Service / Overhaul’

  • A ‘Full Service’ is a complete strip-down of your bicycle to it’s frame. All components are fully serviced, including both hubs, BB and Headset. Your bike will feel like new.

    Prepare. Bike stripped down to frame. Frame and all components throroughly degreased and cleaned (in our parts washer as required) and inspected.

    Replace. Any worn or damaged components will be replaced (at extra cost).

    True & Tension. Precision Wheel True and tensioned on our Truing Stand.

    Tune and Adjust. Gears and Brakes finely tuned / hydraulic brakes bled.

    Not included in price:

    • Replacement parts will be charged for (e.g. bearings, brake pads, chains, cassettes etc) once you have confirmed you are happy with our recommendations, and have specified any preferences.

    • Full suspension frames can be fully stripped for a frame bearing service at additional cost. Please enquire.

    • Suspension, shocks, and dropper post servicing is extra.

  • All additional new parts (e.g. cables, brake pads, new bearings) are chargeable. A full suspension bike will cost more if frame bearings are to be replaced, as this will incur more workshop time.

    Suspension

    • Fit a Suspension Fork

    • Suspension Fork and Shock servicing, for most common brands (Fox, RockShox, Marzoochi) - please enquire for your specific model.

    Dropper Seatpost Service

    • We currently service a range of cable-actuated dropper posts. Please enquire, with model details, for a price.

    Full Frame Bearing Replacement

    • Full suspension frame bearing strip-down and rebuild (plus replacement bearings if required)

  • E-Bikes are 80% conventional mechanical bikes, augmented by some clever technology. As such, we offer a range of services and are more than happy to discuss your exact requirements.

    E-Bike Service / Repairs

    • Please enquire, outlining the make and model of e-bike, system (Bosch, Shimano, Bafang etc) and nature of the problem. For the major systems, we will shortly be able to offer diagnosis and software updates.

    Normal Mechanical Issues on E-Bikes

    If you have a problem that is not related to the electrical aspects of your bike, see our other services for prices. If your e-bike is broken, and you are unable to transport it, we can come to you.

  • Waxed Chain Service

    • Super-efficient low maintenance drivetrain, ideal for road, triathlon and TT. Once waxed, a chain does not need to be lubricated, and picks up far less dirt. We recommend you have 2 chains per bike, so that you can rotate them. Waxing should be repeated approximately every 300km.

    • A meticulous drivetrain clean is required before any waxing can take place.

    • Immersive Chain Wax available, with or without drivetrain degrease and deep clean (let us take care of the messy bit).

    • We can supply new chains to your spec.

  • Bike Setup

    • New Bike Day (the best day) and need your new bike setup and fitted for you?

    • We can complete your build, lubricate your drivetrain, conduct a full safety check of your bike, and provide a basic ‘bike fit’ to get you in a comfortable and efficient riding position.

    • We can do this for you at your home if you wish.

    Full Bike Build

    • Building up a new bike, from a new or used frame and components, is one of our favourite workshop tasks!

    • We can professionally assemble and lubricate all components, tune your bike, conduct a full safety check and road test and provide a basic bike fit to to get you in a comfortable and efficient riding position.
